Better Business for All - Planning

Do you have any regulatory concerns for your business?

Not sure what regulations your business needs to comply with?

Your local authority planning department controls and guides the design and creation of buildings along with how land is used.

Are you considering any of the following:

  • Relocating to new premises

  • Expanding or altering your existing premises

  • Using your premises for more or different activities

  • Displaying external adverts

If the answer is "Yes" to any of the above then you may need to apply for planning permission.

Before you do anything you need to contact the "Planning Service" at your local authority.

Rules and what is acceptable can differ from area to area so you must contact the council where your business premises is located.

You need to make sure your business is fully compliant and that you get it right first time and save money!

Please contact the Business Support Helpline to give them your business postcode so they can signpost you to your local authority.

Don't forget they can also provide you with free, impartial advice for anything to do with your business! So have your questions ready for them!
