Amazing Interactives is being supported by the local growth hub to develop exporting opportunities of its 3D pain distraction system that is used in medical environments, including hospitals, as a calming and relaxing tool to reduce anxiety and to distract children while being treated.

The product has already been launched in the USA in 20 hospitals and Amazing Interactives has secured £4.500 funding through Tees Valley Business Compass, that will support its travel costs to be able to secure further leads by engaging with more hospitals and medical facilities, as well as attend conferences in the USA.

It is also currently available in more than 50 children’s hospitals in the UK, including Great Ormond Street, James Cook and the RVI in Newcastle.

The software is broadcast on a 3D monitor and has more than 50 interactive packages that have been adapted for a sensory experience to engage users and monitor their hand-eye co-ordination, rates of reaction as well as carry out breathing exercises while interacting with the 3D system.

Established in 2004, Amazing Interactives works in the educational, entertainment and medical sectors, as well as in special educational needs schools. It has a five-strong workforce, with a network of contractors.
Pravin Jethwa, Business Director at Amazing Interactives, said: “We are hoping to keep this momentum going as we have enjoyed great success and growing demand for our products both in the UK and abroad. The support by Tees Valley Business Compass will allow us to build on existing relationships in the USA, as well develop new leads as we attend crucial conferences and are able to present the Amazing Interactives brand to potential suitors.

“It is an exciting time for everyone connected with the company and we have already secured deals for our 3D systems in some of the UK’s major hospitals and expanded into the USA, while also serving the education and entertainment markets.”

The support available for companies through Tees Valley Business Compass, the local growth hub, comes from an investment of more than £9.5 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), secured by Tees Valley Combined Authority. Support is available for growth, along with projects that increase broadband connectivity, research and development, innovation, and energy efficiency.

Lesley Stothart, Business Growth Consultant at the Tees Valley Business Compass, said: “Amazing Interactives truly is an innovative firm that is able to deliver a product to various markets and support vulnerable children and other users by providing a calming influence. Pravin and his team have done an excellent job securing key contracts with renowned providers and this additional investment boost will allow them to push on with expanding and entering new markets.”
