At the event businesses were informed about schemes to support their growth, which can be accessed through Tees Valley Business Compass. Support available includes; innovation projects, improving broadband speeds, improving energy efficiency and implementing low carbon technologies, and business growth projects.

Tees Valley Business Compass is the local growth hub and will support thousands of businesses in the area, thanks to an investment of more than £9.5 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), secured by Tees Valley Combined Authority

The event was held at Darlington Mowden Park RFC’s Northern Echo Arena on Neasham Road.
Shak Asghar, Growth Service Manager at Tees Valley Business Compass, said: “The vast majority of businesses in Darlington and the wider Tees Valley area have growth ambitions, but don’t always know where to find the support they need. This breakfast seminar allowed companies to gain an understanding of what support they can access through Tees Valley Business Compass, and what the process of working with us is.

“Whether you’re looking for funding for your next stage of growth, you want to access cutting edge research and development facilities, the demands of the digital world mean you need faster broadband, or you want to cut overheads by becoming more energy efficient, Tees Valley Business Compass can point you in the right direction.”

Chris McEwan, Darlington Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration, said: “We were proud to jointly host this event which showed that Darlington is a great place for businesses to grow. Our team works closely with colleagues at Business Compass to ensure Darlington businesses receive the support they need to thrive.”
