Organised jointly by Tees Valley Combined Authority and Tees Valley Business Compass the Tees Valley Business Summit featured practical seminars, inspirational workshops, one-to-one advice meetings and networking opportunities.

The summit followed a Tees Engineering Network (TEN) event, which featured Able UK and Armstrong Energy and highlighted local procurement opportunities. Business Compass ran seminars throughout the day, providing a wealth of information, advice and support. New to this year was a series of sessions specifically targeting pre-starts, offering practical advice for inspiring entrepreneurs.

Mr Houchen said: “This is clearly the annual summit to be at in the Tees Valley and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many people from our business community. Until I was Mayor I didn’t fully realise how many fantastic businesses we have across the Tees Valley. It’s not until you come to an event like this that you realise the potential of the region.

“Business Compass is doing a brilliant job working with the Combined Authority, giving advice, providing access to funding and matching businesses up at events like this. That’s the way to grow our local economy and I hope to capitalise on this fantastic work during my time as Mayor.”
